To determine the odor-inhibiting effect and to evaluate the efficacy of Sensidin™ Pure skin multifunctional in underarm deodorants under practical conditions, a sniff test was conducted. Here, the efficacy of Sensidin™ Pure skin multifunctional was compared to triclosan as a benchmark. The evaluation was carried out by an indirect olfactory assessment of pads in the volunteers’ armpit.
A BALANCED MICROBIOME
The microbiome is believed to play an important role in skin health. The more different species relatively frequently occur on the skin, the higher is the diversity of the microbiome. Usually, healthy skin has a balanced microbiome with a high diversity.
In the contrary, some skin diseases such as atopic dermatitis come along with an imbalanced microbiome and show a low diversity of microorganisms. Patients with atopic dermatitis have a disturbed skin barrier function, which can be associated with irritated and itchy skin. Therefore, atopic dermatitis can be used as an example to demonstrate the link between the skin barrier and the microbiome.

The objective of this study was to assess the sustainability of the microbiome after application of a deodorant roll-on containing 0.15% Sensidin™ Pure. Six female subjects with healthy skin have been recruited for this study. The effect of the test product on the skin microbiome has been assessed by swabbing before and 48 hours after single product application.
The test subjects have indicated that they perceive the tested product as being gentle to the skin while leaving a pleasant skin feeling and not burning on the skin as well.No differences were found at baseline between both areas, which showed that the microbiome was comparable before application. 48 hours after application, no significant differences were found either.
